Fellowship on Global Health Equity (GHE) program aims to enhance healthcare delivery in rural areas by placing medical doctors in Primary Health Care Centers (PHCCs) for a year. This initiative includes academic training in global health and social medicine, addressing health workforce gaps, and improving primary care services in underserved communities.
Fellows will undergo clinical training in primary care, emergency medicine, disaster management, and pandemic response.
Training will include health financing, community engagement, policy writing, research methods, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 2030.
The training will combine clinical and public health skills to provide comprehensive care to patients in the community.
Fellows will be accredited both by their home country university (In Nepal, Karnali Academy of Health Sciences) and a US-based university.
Local municipalities will provide monthly incentives to the doctors.
The program is implemented in rural communities in partnership with local municipalities and the home university.
The fellowship lasts for one year, with fellows receiving special training and accreditation upon completion.
